Jen-Ann's versatile work includes numerous pieces for theatrical productions. The painting at left is a "rolling back drop". This type of backdrop was used in 19th century productions. Stretched across the stage and attached to drums at either end, the backdrop rolled throughout the production. This particular piece was fashioned for "Walk Across America" and portrays scenes from the East Coast to San Francisco during the Gold Rush era. Stampedes, prairie fires, and other incidents in frontier life were simulated on this 186 foot canvas, eliminating the need for set changes during the production.
